Dear Catherine
Thank you for the wonderful experience I had at the Miss Earth South Africa 2007.
I have learnt so much I cannot actually put it into words the experience, qualities and attributes I took away from the pageant with me will be remembered forever, and they stay very close to my heart, all the places we went to see.
The help we could offer and the amazing thing is that now everybody is talking about saving the earth from global warming, pollution, energy saving.
I learnt how to actually appreciate the down to earth person I am, and I have confidence in the real and genuine person I am.
I noticed how every contestant had their own uniqueness.
It was amazing to see how people react to you when you are after the same title.
Thank you for exposing me to the environment of an international pageant.
I will tell my kids one day about me being chosen as a finalist for the MESA 2007 and also what I went through and I wish every girl could have this unforgettable experience of a life time.
Here is a quote which always reminds me of the experience: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you again
I wish you great success and may God bless you in all that you do.
Love

OUR GREEN PRIDE
Educationalist Ella Bella Constantinides is leaving her Green Legacy behind once again. This time at the International United Nations Youth Conference in Korea.
Ella has been invited to partake in the United Nations TUNZA Youth Conference currently taking place. Ella will be addressing the International delegation in the extensive environmental educational work done under the Miss Earth South Africa in association with Consol. Her role in these educational programmes nation wide have been a key element to the educational component of the work done by the organization. The United Nations Environmental Programme, has adopted a programme for children and youth named “Tunza”, which in the Kiswahili language of Eastern Africa means to treat with care and affection. The Tunza Programme is a six-year strategy aimed at promoting the participation of children and youth in environmental activities. It consolidates all UNEP’s activities for young people into a unified global programme implemented through the Children and Youth Unit of UNEP’s Division of Communications and Public Information.
The Tunza strategy focuses on four thematic areas: awareness creation and information exchange, capacity-building, and youth participation in decision-making. All Tunza activities have an emphasis on the involvement and participation of girls and young women and concerted efforts are made to mainstream gender issues and concerns into the Tunza programme. Her involvement has seen her tackle issue of Energy efficiency, recycling, working with the penguins at SANCCOB, sustainability, food security to name but a few. Ella is certainly leaving her mark and flying the South African flag with Green Pride.
Earth Winners Smoking Hot in KZN
Friday, August 14th, 2009Newlands East High and Maris Stella enjoyed the company of the Miss Earth South Africa Elements: Chanel Grantham (Miss Earth), Cherise Biagio (Miss Air) and Mahlatse Mkhawana (Miss Fire). Starting off with an assembly; explaining the mission for the day the learners got involved in planting their own vegetable and herb garden. The seedlings and herbs were sponsored by MICA along with equipment such as wheelbarrows, spades and the essential sexy pink and purple gumboots. Robyndale Nursery sponsored additional herbs and seedlings and indigenous trees to compliment the garden.
The Sharks Board welcomed the ladies with open arms and scalpels – they got to help with a shark dissection which was a part of the educational programmes of the Sharks Board.
Thanks to Thekwini Toyota - who make sure that our ambassadors have the correct wheels in KZN, the Miss Earth team set off in their white Toyota Prius to WESSA head office in Howick Umgeni. There they learnt about different educational programmes, resources and of course block burning. The winners, with drip cans of diesel and petrol, set out on what is called the “natural cold burning” of grasslands. This conservational field work was done for new vegetation to grow and thrive in the Umgeni Valley Estate. The ladies gained knowledge, a great workout, exhaustion, soot stained jeans and a diesel smelling aroma at the end of a successful day.
