The HSUS received this statement from Talbots on Friday, Sept 3:

“Thank you for your concern. Talbots always seeks to operate under the highest ethical standards. We have heard our customers’ concerns regarding the items offered that contained real fur. These items have been pulled from stores and are no longer available for sale. Talbots remains committed to its policy against the use of real fur in our collection.”

Dontcha just love it when the animals win???!!!!  Keep on raising a ruckus for the rabbits and the all the other critters too!

With funds raised from my exhibition I bought much needed supplies for “Dinoko Day Care Centre” in Alexandria Township. Supplies included: Vegetables, sweets and treats to cheer the children up.

I taught them the “MESA Anthem”, encouraged them to pick up litter, close taps and turn lights off when not using a room.

I also presented them with “Philip” the pot plant, whom they warmed up to immediately! They also wanted to take “tons” of photographs with “Philip”. I also taught them how to take care of plants and trees!

I look forward to visiting “Dinoko” at the end of this month with more supplies and to check how well “Philip” has been developing.

Despite the on going public servants protests, several schools brough their scholars to celebrate arbour day at the Johanesburg Zoo.

The day was marked by a memorable tree planting and several “Not for profit” organisations were present to educate the scholars on environmental issues.

Rand Water, Food and Trees for Africa and SciBono are but a few that were present.

Thank you to the Johannesburg Zoo for organising this fun, educational event!
