I cannot believe that its two months already since I started with my Miss Earth South Africa projects. The projects we did helped in grooming us to become the strong and powerful young women we are today. Today we ended the month of June with a blast as we attended the Diplomacy week that was hosted by the European Union (EU) at Steve Tshwete Secondary School on the 27th June 2017.
The diplomacy week is an annual event that the EU Delegates around the world have been hosting and coordinating for the last three years. The focus is on the Paris agreement implementation and the nexus energy and climate, which are bigger emitters and G2O countries, such as South Africa. However, it is not limited to these topics- any environmental and climate-friendly topic and activity qualify, also topics related to energy efficiency; low carbon, circular, blue, and green economy and SCP.
We learned so much from the speakers of the day such as the Swedish ambassador Mrs Cecilia Julin, former Youth climate Ambassador and the German Embassy. To Orielia who did such an exceptional job telling us about her Miss Earth South Africa journey you really are a true earth warrior. I thank you for also allowing me to cheer the students with my 3R’s dance. Carla and Dikeledi you were so amazing with how you engaged with the students.
